Eagles volleyball downed by Trail

The Mountain View girls’ volleyball team faced a 3-1 loss to Lackawanna Trail in their season opener at Tunnel Hill on Saturday.

The Eagles took a 25-19 win in the first set, but took three consecutive losses, 25-20, 25-20 and 25-16 to end in a loss.

Taylor Mally had three aces, 11 assists and four digs forMountain View. Ashley Mesach had six kills and four digs and Kerri Jarnagin had two kills, seven assists and two aces.

Elk Lake

TheElkLakegirls’ volleyball team was handed a 3-1 loss fromWestern Wayneon the road on Friday evening.

ElkLakeopened up the night to get a 27-25 win in the first set, butWestern Waynetook three consecutive victories, 25-22, 25-17 and 25-23 to edge the Warriors.

Forest City

TheForestCitygirls’ volleyball team faced a 3-0 loss fromAbingtonHeightsin a road match on Friday evening.

Abington defeatedForestCity25-14 in the first set, 25-5 in the second and capped off the win with a 25-9 third set.

ForestCity’s Solana Stratford had four kills and Sam Kuriger had one kill and one block to lead the Foresters.

Susquehanna

The Susquehanna girls’ volleyball team was handed a 3-0 loss fromDunmoreon the road on Saturday.

Susquehanna was handed three consecutive losses, 25-21, 25-15 and 25-21 to start off the season with a loss.

Sarah Serfilippi had five kills and two blocks for Susquehanna while Alexis Roe had three kills and two digs and Danielle Barnes had two kills, seven digs and two blocks.
