EL student, mom killed in crash

A crash that occurred early Saturday inWyomingCountykilled a woman and her 15-year-old daughter and left a third man severely injured, state police reported.

About 2:45 a.m., Kelly Radwanski, 40, and her daughter, Cailene, were traveling west on Route 292 in Northmoreland Twp. in a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by a 19-year-old man who family identified as Jerry Morris.

The car crossed the double yellow line and struck an oncoming Dodge Dakota driven by a 23-year-old woman.

After the impact, the car containing Kelly Radwanski and her daughter came to rest on the eastbound embankment, while the other vehicle rolled over and came to rest in the westbound lane.

Wyoming County Coroner Tom Kukuchka pronounced the mother and daughter dead at the scene.

Wyoming County Deputy Coroner Eric Kukuchka said Monday afternoon that an autopsy earlier in the day at Moses Taylor Hospital revealed that Kelly died of a mild traumatic injury while Cailene suffered a head injury due to blunt force trauma.

Morris was flown toGeisingerWyomingValleywith severe injuries.

The driver of the Dodge was transported to an area hospital with moderate injuries.

The crash closed Route 292 for approximately four hours while officials investigated the crash.

Cailene had been a ninth-grade honor roll student atTunkhannockAreaHigh Schoolin the spring, but was currently enrolled atElkLakeJunior-SeniorHigh School.

A double funeral is planned for Wednesday, Sept. 21, at11 a.m.at Harding-Litwin Funeral Home in Tunkhannock.
