Christmas in Montrose

December 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 2023, Montrose will have events to appeal to all ages and tastes.

Mark your calendars for the first weekend in December.

Before getting to the wonderful things planned so far, it is important for everyone to know who benefits from this amazing event that draws thousands of people every year.

Each Christmas in Montrose event donates a large portion of what is earned to benefit a worthy cause in the area. This year the money will go to Children and Youth. The money will go for children in need who would otherwise not be able to celebrate Christmas.

Friday and Saturday, our local stores will be all decked out in their finest Christmas decorations, they will be open and looking forward to your visit. Montrose has many shops and they provide unique shopping experiences that you will not want to miss. Take some time out of your day to stop in.

Some, but not all of the shops will be open on Sunday.

Friday night begins the festivities, bring the kids for the Santa Roll, stay for the United Fire Companies Parade of Lights!

Also, on Friday night, for the adults, “Take a Bite Out of Christmas” returns! This year there will be additional tours that will appeal to a variety of interests.

Saturday, for those who love to run/walk, the Jingle Bell 5K will be held Saturday morning and will begin at 9:00 a.m. This beloved event draws hundreds, so register now, $25.00 until November, then the fee goes up to $30.00. Last year on the Green, several gorgeous storefronts were added where vendors displayed their wares. The reaction was, to say the least amazing. Many comments were made, two of the most frequent being, “Please add more,” and, “The Green truly felt like an old-fashioned Christmas Village”!

Vendors hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Green Saturday.

Some other things to look for on Saturday will be a fun filled day of with photos with Santa, horse and buggy rides, wagon rides, entertainment, and the Festival of Trees at the Rosemont Inn just to name a few. Local churches also have much going on Saturday…food, craft items and homemade goods for sale, and so much more!

Sunday the annual Christmas Choral will be held at the Presbyterian Church. More activities to be announced for Sunday.

These are just some of the things to look forward to this coming December when Christmas in Montrose once again rolls out the carpet to friends old and new from far and wide. Watch our Facebook page, and your local papers to learn more as we draw nearer!
