Members of thePennsylvaniaandNew Yorkstate police stopped a van on Interstate 81 in Susquehanna County on Wednesday, APril 4 and took a father and son wanted inNew York City for human sex trafficking into custody, according to a news release.
Pennsylvaniastate police said Vincent George Sr., 56, and his son, Vincent George Jr., 33, both ofAllentown, were stopped in Great Bend Twp. in their red Dodge Caravan at mile marker 230 on I-81 southbound at about8:30 p.m.
State police said both men are wanted by authorities inNew York Cityfor human sex trafficking. Further details on the charges against them were not immediately available from theNew YorkCountydistrict attorney’s office on Thursday.
George Jr. was also charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the release.
Both men were sent to the Susquehanna County Prison after failing to post $500,000 bail. State police said the two are awaiting extradition toNew York.
