Top seeded Blue Ridge took care of eighth-seeded Elk Lake in three games to earn a win in the
District II Class 2A quarterfinal, and two players reached milestones while earning the victory.
McKenna Zick had 38 assists including the 1,000th of her career to lead the Lady Raiders, while
Abigail Gelinger added 13 kills including her 500th of her career.
Emily Gorham and Mila Kott also combined for 13 kills with Gorham collecting eight and Kott
delivering five.
Elk Lake completed its season at 6-13 and were led by Maddy Ely who had 10 assists and six
digs while Sally Farrell added four kills and three blocks. Aleece Greenley added another three
kills and Addie Azaravich chipped in with three digs and three aces. Blue Ridge faced Lake-Lehman last night in the Class 2A semifinal.
In other Class 2A games Lake-Lehman earned the right to face Blue Ridge with a 3-1 win over Montrose.
The Lady Meteors avoided the sweep by winning game three 25-20 and were led by Ava Bell
who had 10 points including six aces and contributed seven kills. Sadie Jones added nine
blocks for Montrose who finished the season with a record of 11-6.
On Monday, October 27 Mountain View hosted the District II Class A semifinals that featured
Susquehanna and MMI Prep in the opening match while Mountain View faced Lackawanna
Trail.
Earlier in the week Blue Ridge completed its season with a 3-1 win over Susquehanna.
Gelinger had 19 kills and six digs while Zick had 48 assists and 15 service points. Lyndee
Barbour added 16 points including three aces and had nine kills. Emily Gorham contributed 13
kills.
Lauren Huyck led Susquehanna with 25 assists and 15 kills while adding six blocks. Camryn
Sellitto had eight kills to go along with five digs and Adrianna Rockwell had digs with eight kills
and four blocks.
Mountain View swept Mid Valley on Senior Night to close out their regular season.
Their lone Senior, Addison Kilmer led the Lady Eagles with 10 blocks and nine kills while Aubrey
Sanders finished with 17 assists, three digs and four aces. Karley Norton added six aces, three
kills and three digs and Addison Tompkins chipped in with four kills.
