Matthew L. Fischer, 65, of Montrose, PA, passed away unexpectedly at home, on Saturday, November 21, 2025. He was born on June 4, 1960, in North Brunswick, NJ, to the late Frank M. Sr., and Patricia L. (Madden) Fischer.
He is survived by his brother, Frank Fischer, two sisters, Madeline Fischer and Linda
Fischer, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Matt was in the Army National Guard and served in Afghanistan, and Bosnia. For the last few years, he drove water truck for GDS. He loved being outdoors, and was a member of The Outdoor Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025 at the Holy Name of Mary Church, with Rev. Philip Rayappan officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Name of Mary Cemetery. Donations in Matt’s name can be made to: True Friends Animal Welfare Center, 16332 SR 706, Montrose, PA 18801.
