Paula Frances Adams Obit

Paula Frances Adams passed on to her heavenly home on Nov 13, 2025 at the age of 93. Born on Nov 29, 1931 in Scranton, Pa, she was the daughter of Paul Hamilton Wilcox and Elizabeth Hollister Wilcox, and the wife of James Kenneth Adams. She and Ken were married on New Year’s Eve in 1949 and celebrated 65 years of marriage in 2014.
Paula grew up in Marcus Hook, PA, where her dad was a policeman, and spent most of her summers at the Wilcox farm in Harford. She also lived on Provident Hill in Scranton with her grandparents, Dr. Frederick and Elizabeth Hollister.
Following her marriage to “Ken” the couple moved to Dade County, FL where Ken worked for a Veterinary Practice for 5 years. They returned to Harford in 1956 and bought a dairy farm. Paula was by her husband’s side supporting him in all of his many endeavors and occupations.
One of the many interests they shared and loved was working at the Harford Fair, where Ken was director for many years, as well as the President of the State Fair Association of PA.
Paula was known for her beautiful singing voice and sang in the Harford Congregational Church choir for many years. When she moved to the Willow Valley Retirement Communities in Lancaster, she joined The Chorale and The Manor Choir.
She also sang at the First United Methodist Church in Lancaster. Paula was known for her beautiful flower gardens, and was an accomplished artist, with a love for drawing and painting. She was a member of the Willing Workers at the Harford Congregational Church, and The Prosperity Chapter No. 83 Order of the Eastern Star. Paula is survived by 2 children, Julie Grove, wife of Bruce, Lancaster, PA, and Paul Adams, husband of Susan, Deltona, FL. She was predeceased by her husband, and two sons, James Adams, Husband of Sandy, and Steven Adams, who died in infancy.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Tim Adams, husband of Jessica, Andrew Adams, husband of Naomi, Madelyn Mueller, wife of Craig, Lindsay Grove, David Grove, husband of Mary Frances, Jamie Paul Adams, husband of Jamie C., Krista Delgado, wife of Johnnie, Kyle Taylor, husband of Samantha, Allyson Bisland, wife of John, and 28 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday, November 19, 2025 @ First Congregational Church of Harford with visitation from 10:30-11 a.m., and service at 11 a.m. followed by luncheon in the Church lecture hall.
