A quartet of Susquehanna county golfers made an impression on Lackawanna League golf
coaches and were selected to the league’s golf all-star teams.
Leading the foursome was Montrose senior Ally Legg, who was named to girls’ golf first team
all-star list.
Legg enjoyed an outstanding senior season which saw her qualify for the PIAA championships
where she finished 26th overall after shooting a 176 at Penn State University in October.
Named to the second team was Elk Lake junior Taylor States who helped lead the Lady Warriors to second-place finish in the team standings at the District II Class 2A championships.
On the boys’ side Susquehanna senior Drew Hennessy, who golfed with Blue Ridge in a
co-sponsorship between the two schools, and Elk Lake sophomore Cooper Sipe were named to
the Division II second team.
Hennessy was the highest qualifier at the District II qualifying event finishing 14th while Sipe
won a playoff for one of the final spots for the District tournament. Neither golfer qualified to go
beyond the District level as Hennessy fired an 81 five strokes behind the last qualifying score
and Sipe finished with a 93.
