MONTROSE — The Winter Solstice is only days away, and the temperatures have been frigid. There’s snow on the ground, and Christmas is right around the corner. If you’re looking for a great cup of coffee to keep you warm, and you want a change from McDonald’s and Dunkin’s, there are two places in town that just set out their winter blends. They both provide a great cup of coffee along with homemade rolls, muffins, buns and bagels.
If you want to sit down and have a steaming cup of coffee with a friend or do a little solo texting or emailing, Matt and Tatyana Ford have a picturesque shop, Milestone Coffee, on South Main Street next to Lucky Dog that they relaunched in February 2024. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed and their coffee is roasted fresh every week. They have a number of winter blends that they are selling, and their gift baskets make great gifts for coffee lovers. Their fireplace blend offers a great cup of coffee on those cold mornings leading up to Christmas day.
If you are in a hurry and want a drive thru, then Cargo Coffee, in a neat little trailer across from Price Chopper is the place that you want to go. You can’t miss it. Megan and Corbin White have their winter menu up. If you’re on your way to work, taking the kids to school, out for errands, or just need a pick me up; Cargo Coffee Drive-thru is there for you! They have a lot of grab and go snacks as well as a large holiday menu of delicious, hot drinks. Their coffee spans from simple straightforward brewed coffee to exciting and flavorful lattes.
Try them both, you won’t be disappointed. It’s Christmas. It’s cold. Nothing speaks more to the season than a winter blend of fresh brewed, hot coffee. Don’t miss out on making a coffee stop a core part of your holidays.
