Susan M. Pavelski, 65, of Jackson Township, PA found the peace and comfort she’s always deserved when she went to rest above the clouds on December 10, 2025 with her loving family and best buddy Chico (chihuahua) embracing her.
Sue is survived by her husband of forty years, Robert; by her children, Casey Webster, Brittany (Jacob) Ladd, and Corey Pavelski; her mother and life long best friend, Marion LaBarre; three grandchildren, Brock Webster, Grant Webster, and Bree Ladd; and her companion dog Chico. She was predeceased by her father, LaValle LaBarre.
Sue was known affectionately by many names: Susan, Susie, Sue, Mom, Ma, Grammy, and most infamously: Yum-Yum. Sue grew up on the family farm and spent countless hours in the barn with her father, uncles, and cousins. Her horses led her to find the love of her life, Bob.
Sue was employed as a Paraprofessional with Blue Ridge School District for 20 years and was passionate about the students she worked with. She spent many hours thrifting with her mother for those in need, including her students. This is just a small example of the selfless person she was, always thinking of the needs of others. Sue loved making her home (as well as her children’s homes) special with the beautiful stone walls that she built to display her passion and knowledge of flowers.
When she wasn’t in her flower beds, you could find Sue meticulously crafting ornaments and unique glass art for hours on end. Sue was devoted to raising her children and grandchildren, never missing a school activity or sporting event. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Nothing made her happier than seeing Brock, Grant, and Bree; maybe Corey, sometimes. Sue always kept her sense of humor right to the end.
Throughout her 15-month battle, Sue was perpetually surrounded by love and support from her family at her side. With her family’s help, mainly her devoted husband, Bob, who never missed a single appointment, she was able to focus on the fight. For this reason, and because she always held children close to her heart, Sue’s family would be honored to know she could help in some way to keep a family united and focused on the comfort and care of a child needing her parent’s undivided love at this time.
Assisting a family in need, local to the Blue Ridge/Montrose community, is the most impactful way to accomplish this and honor Sue’s memory and positivity that she kept throughout. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Duane and Janice Benedict c/o the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc. P.O. Box 936, Hallstead, PA 18822.
We hope the Benedict family will feel the love and support from the community that Sue did when she needed it most. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
