Joan A. Webster, 91, of Orofino, Idaho, passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born on April 12, 1934, in Bridgewater Township, Susquehanna County, PA, to Robert and Doris Cease. She graduated from Montrose High School in 1952.
On Sept. 14, 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, Douglas W. Webster. Together, they raised two sons, Dale W. Webster and Randy R. Webster. Joan is survived by her sons, Dale (Shannon) Webster and Randy (Monica) Webster; four grandchildren, Adam (Karisa) Webster, Sandra (Dave) Birchard, Danielle (Michael) Harriell, and Skylar Morgan; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Rosalee (Bob) Rychlicki.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas “Doug” Webster; her parents, Robert and Doris Cease; her sister, Sandra King; her brother, Bob Cease; her granddaughter, Victoria A. Webster; and her grandson, Randy R. “JR” Webster.
Joan was known for always being willing to lend a hand or two. She was deeply involved in her community, joining the Silver Lake Ladies Community Service Club and later the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Company, where she helped form a committee to establish the Silver Lake Fireman’s Field Days.
For over 20 years, Joan volunteered with 4-H sewing, one of her greatest passions, and
took great joy in teaching and encouraging young people. When she wasn’t volunteering, she could often be found enjoying another favorite pastime – fishing.
A service will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s memory to either the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 133, Brackney, PA 18812, the Silver Lake Ladies Community Service Club, PO Box 134, Brackney, PA 18812, or the
Susquehanna County 4-H program, 88 Chenango Street, Montrose, PA 18801.
