Sean Raymond McGraw, affectionately known as “Chubs” or “Chuba,” age 56, knocked on heaven’s door on January 23, 2026, after a two-year battle with cancer—two steps forward, three steps back, but never without grit.
Born February 8, 1969, to April Dawn Thompson and the late Wayne McGraw, Sean lived life on his own terms. He had a deep passion for music, cars, and the freedom of the open road. Whether it was hair metal blasting through the speakers or cruising with the windows down, it was part of how he moved through life. He valued simplicity and time spent just being with the people around him.
Sean and his wife, Billie, loved spending their free time working on their car and taking long drives together—that car was their freedom.
Throughout his life, Sean held many different career positions, always drawn to hands-on work. Most recently, he worked at Kost Tire, doing what he loved, working on cars alongside his loyal friend, Josh Strohl. A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Sean rarely missed a chance to root for his team.
Sean is survived by his wife, Billie McGraw; his mother, April Dawn Thompson; his brothers, Jason McGraw (Gina) and Adam McGraw (Lisa); his children, Andrew McGraw (Marissa) and Tawni Pipher (Brandon); and his eight grandchildren, who brought him deep pride. He is also remembered by his loving cousins Susan Lanesey and Deborah Brown, along with many extended family and friends.
Though the road was long and the fight was hard, Sean now rests free from struggle. Tears may fall, but there is comfort in knowing he is at peace; somewhere with the music turned up and the windows down.
