MONTROSE — New members were inducted and old ones were honored at the United Fire Company of Montrose’s 2026 Installation and Honoree Annual Banquet held Jan. 10.
The event was both an official installation of the 2026 Officers and served as a time to honor members for their years of service and dedication to United.
The 2026 Installation of officers are: Ben Curley, president; Lucas Schwartztrauber, vice president; Lindsey Rosin, secretary; Melina Coy, assistant secretary; Michael Rosin, treasurer. Trustees: Ted Cady, Allen Coy, Larry Coy, Charles Daly, and Bill Zalewski.
The 2026 Line Officers are: Fire Chief Preston Sprout; First Assistant Charles Daly; Second Assistant Paul Johnson; Third Assistant Michael Rosin; Captain Dillan VanNostrand and Lieutenants Ryan Coy, Jon Wert and Daniel Stone.
For 2026 Fire Police: Jack Lasher, Jim Sample, Tom Bell, Dave Cobb and Cliff Taylor.
The Inductees pledged to guide the United Fire Company of Montrose PA through 2026.
Those honored for service included: Hunter Cady, 10 years; Ted Cady, Raylene Coy and Alyssa Sprout, 20 years; Mary Daly Rosengrant, 30 years; Larry Coy, Mike Hinds, Preston Sprout and Cliff Taylor. Jack Lasher was honored for 57 years of service and Bill Zalewski was honored for 60 years of service.
United Fire Company reported 344 service calls in 2025, ranging from vehicle accidents and structure fires to medical assist and public safety calls. United covers Montrose Borough, Bridgewater Township and portions of Dimock, Jessup and Franklin Townships, and also serves as mutual to other fire companies. Anyone interested in volunteering is welcome to attend one of the Tuesday night meetings or contact the fire company.
