Dear Editor:
Another day, another reckless assault on our Constitution by the Conman-in-Chief, Donald Trump. His latest scheme to turn America into an autocracy run by billionaires is to have the federal government (translation Trump) grab control of elections away from the states.
For the past 250 years, states and their local government partners responsibly managed the administration of free and fair elections across America. But in typical Trump trickery, he wants you to believe he can do better.
If a Democrat, any Democrat, attempted to trash our Constitution every day like Trump, Republicans would immediately construct a big, beautiful guillotine.
So, I would like to know. Where are the local leaders of the Republican party? I take the deafening silence of Dan Meuser, Lisa Baker, Jonathon Fritz, and Tina Pickett as a sign of their absolute support for Trump’s madness. November can’t come soon enough.
