The Elk Lake swim program traveled to Scranton high school and came away with a pair of wins. Elk Lake girls’ swim team dominated the pool in a 120-28 win over the Lady Knights.
Allison Long won the 200-yard freestyle race in a time of 2:27.54 and was followed by Lydia
Howell and Nora Kaetzel.
Avery Kerr with a time of 2:47.52 won the 200-yard individual medley while McKenna Puterbaugh finished second. Kerr also captured the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:23.62 while
Trinity Bell was second.
Brynn Warriner was the first of three Lady Warriors in the 50-yard freestyle. Warriner won in
26.27 and was followed by Alayna Stang and Alex Perez. Warriner also won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.22 followed by Long and Howell.
Stang won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:34.58 as Puterbaugh and Kaetzel finished
second and third.
Chelsea Grosvenor also had two wins, first claiming the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:04.48
and capturing the 100-yard backstroke 1:09.20. Perez finished second.
The Lady Warriors also swept the relays, first winning in the 200-yard medley in a time of
2:15.50. Puterbaugh, Perez, Stang, and Warriner were followed by Kaetzel, Kerr, Grosvenor
and Bell.
Bell, Howell, Long and Kerr won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 2:06.92 and Warriner, Long,
Perez, and Bell won the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:39.52. Finishing second in the 400 were
Grosvenor, Stang, Puterbaugh and Howell.
On the boys’ side the Warriors were too strong and evened their record to 4-4 with an 89-52
wing over the Knights.
Isaiah Jones won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:01.02 followed by Matt Buffington. Jones also
captured the 500-yard freestyle in 5:38.94.
Nico Chrisitian was the winner in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.88 and Alan Perez won
the 100-yard freestyle in 1:01.31 followed by Blaize Ball.
Buffington won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:14.43 followed by Isaac Dilmore.
The Warriors also got second-place finishes from Perez in the 100-yard breaststroke and Ball in
the 100-yard backstroke.
In the relays Elk Lake won the 200 and 400-yard freestyle races. Jones, Dilmore, Christian, and
Julian Bernard won the 200 in 1:52.27 while Christian, Jones, Dilmore, and Malachi Baier won
the 400 in 4:15.12. In the 200-yard medley relay, Perez, Buffington and Aiden Hollister finished second.
