Diesel spill reported at gas site

The State Department of Environmental Protection is investigating a spill of around 100 gallons of diesel fuel at a Cabot gas well site just north of Dimock.

DEP spokesman Dan Spadoni said that a spill the equivalent of two drums of diesel oil was reported at Cabot’s Rozell 2H well site in Jessup Township
He said that DEP crews would be dispatched to the scene.
Stark said he believed the spill occurred around 2 a.m. Tuesday, and was “the result of a mechanical failure involving an O-ring that allowed the accidental release of diesel fuel.”
He said that DEP was notified and had been on the sccene by Tuesday afternoon. He added that that Cabot was cooperating fully with the investigation.
