Feasting on Summer

The second annual Taste of Summer in Hallstead presented a feast for the eyes as well as the mouth.

Premier area restaurants and food vendors offered up their wares to the eager crowds on Thursday night. From hand-carved prime rib to a lavish desserts and cakes – there was something to satisfy every appetite.
In addition to food, local artisans featured their handmade items, from soap to jewelry and artwork made from local fossilized stone.
The event raises money for NEPA Community Health Centers. Terese DeLaPlaine, executive director of NEPA Community Healthcare said, “We are grateful to our supporters and especially our corporate sponsor, Pennstar Bank, for making the event possible.”
Regional manager of Pennstar Bank Robert Welch said, “NEPA Community Healthcare plays a critical role in helping individual citizens of Susquehanna County and their encompassing communities remain strong and healthy.”
Restaurants and food vendors who participated include: Chocolates by Leopold; Endless Mountains Farm Fresh; Golden China Buffet; Green Gables Restaurant; Inn at Starlight Lake and Restaurant; Links at Hiawatha Landing; Maloney’s Irish Sports Pub and Family Restaurant; Montrose Price Chopper; Rob’s Country Market; Schneider’s Market; Summerhouse Grill; Tedeschi’s Restaurant and Pizzeria; The Summit Tea Room and The Water’s Edge.
