Mountain View’s girls’ soccer team picked up a 3-1 win over Montrose in a home game on Wednesday afternoon.

In the first half, Mountain View got started with a goal from Carly Jesse off an assist from Jill Roeske at 3:55.

That goal was followed by one from Jenny Molenko, with an assist from Sarah Pulice at 15:40 to put the Eagles up 2-0.

Megan Walker then chipped in a goal with an assist from Molenko at 33:39.

After halftime, Montrose scored at 44:01 as Sarah Lundy found the net off an assist from Rebecca Maxey to make it 3-1.

The game then went scoreless to the finish as Mountain View had 15 shots on goal and six corners and goalie Caity Tague had five saves.

Montrose had eight shots on goal with three corner kicks as Katie Spellman had six saves on goal.

 

 

 

Forest City

Forest City’s girls’ soccer team picked up an 8-1 victory over Holy Cross at home on Wednesday afternoon.

In the first half, Meagan Goben got things started for the Foresters with a goal off an assist from Ally Borick at 11:14.

Carly Erdmann then chipped in with an assist from Kylie Borick at 17:17.

Erdman struck again with an assist from Mary Sullivan at 18:04 before A. Borick would score with an assist from Sullivan at 28:09.

Sullivan knocked in a goal of her own at 30:24, before Goben scored a second time with an assist from Erdman at 35:32.

Holy Cross got on the board in the end of the first half at 38:06 to make it 6-1 at halftime.

However, Forest City closed the game out with two more goals in the second half, one from Sullivan at 58 minutes and the second from K. Borick off an assist from Erdmann at 75 minutes.

Forest City took 33 shots on goal and had nine corners while goalie Katie Yale had two saves and teammate Kaylie Gigliotti had another two saves.
