Wyalusing Valley Motorsports Park honored its champions and top racers Saturday, December 4th with a fun filled event featuring music from the band Loose Change and the always popular 4 person sprint car simulator.
Over $9000 in cash, prizes, awards, and trophies were handed out to the racers courtesy of WVMP, JRS Kart Parts, Burris Racing Tire, and Graphix By Billy. A table full of door prizes were also given away courtesy of Graphix By Billy, D & J Fotos, Cal Snyder, Matt Addona, WVMP, Burris Tire, and others.
Information passed on to the racers included the selection of the Motosponder timing and scoring system for use in 2011. This system required the racer to purchase a “card” at the super low price of $10. The card is attached to the car and forgotten, with no need to recharge. The widening of turns 3 & 4, and the increase in banking, have already been greatly discussed and were not mentioned. Instead, the big news of the night was the guarantee of a very attractive champions payout for the top 4 divisions in 2011.
The 600 and 270 micro champions will take home $1000 for their efforts, with the Allstar Slingshot champ pocketing $500 and the Jr. Slingshot Champ walking away with $400.
