Harford Township supervisors met Tuesday (Jan. 11) despite the weather, and had the first reading of a proposed industrial noise ordinance.
Supervisor Garry Foltz read a proposed Industrial Noise Ordinance, intended to protect residents from noise pollution in the oil and gas industry, or other industrial activity.
The ordinance will be advertised, and will be voted on at the next meeting.
Although wages for township employees were expected to be established at this meeting, the pay scale was tabled until next month’s meeting, to allow for the supervisors to meet with the employees when they can take a break from plowing and cindering the roads.
The supervisors hoped to meet with township workers by the end of the week to work out wages and raises
The supervisors planned to have a meeting Friday with People’s National Bank, and approved Resolution 1-11, to close on their existing sewer loan and to open a new one.
A township road maintenance agreement proposed by Southwestern Energy is still being reviewed by the solicitor.
The township approved ordering more chains for the township trucks, as well as rims for the Ford 550. Lynn Adams was rehired as a part time, as needed employee, to serve as an extra snowplow driver or road worker.
Township supervisors meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.
