Meteors pin down Sabers

The Montrose Area wrestling team picked up a 42-24 victory over Susquehanna on the road on Thursday evening.

Connor McNamara and John Shaffer had pins and 189 and 215, respectively, to lead Montrose.

Tom Maby (140), Nick Vales (145) and Jarrett Coleman (285) each had a win by fall for Susquehanna.

The Montrose wrestling team was handed a 48-9 loss from Nanticoke on Saturday after it faced a 71-6 loss from Western Wayne at Susquehanna on Thursday evening.

Against Nanticoke, Zach Thorn (160) picked up a decision win the for the Meteors.   

On Thursday, Montrose’s only points came from a forfeit win at 103 from Heather Traver.

Elk Lake’s wrestling team took a 33-22 win at Susquehanna on Saturday, was handed a 57-18 loss from Valley View at a home meet on Thursday night and grabbed a 36-15 victory over Blue Ridge at home on Wednesday evening.

Facing Susquehanna Isaiah Ofalt won by decision at 189 for Elk Lake, which won five matches by forfeit to get the win.

Nick Vales had a pin at 145 for Susquehanna.

Against Valley View Frank Delesky (125) and Devin Fiorentino (135) had pins for Elk Lake in the loss.

Facing Blue Ridge, Jared Curry, Ofalt, Delesky, Fiorentino, Aric Curry and Dakota Green all had wins for Elk Lake.

Dalton Church won by pin at 135 for the Raiders.
