Meteors knocked in semifinals

The Montrose Area team of Zach Warriner and Michael Roman made it to the semifinals on the District II Class AA tennis doubles championship before facing elimination.

Warriner and Roman took a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 loss to Wyoming Seminary’s Bijoy Ghosh and Christopher Kim to be eliminated.

Prior to the loss, Warriner and Roman stormed through the first round with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Riverside’s Drew Tomko and Dylan Bonitz.

The team then grabbed a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Wyoming Area’s David Fanelli and Trevor Adler in the quarterfinals.

Also participating in the competition was Montrose’s team of Ryan Ochse and Isaac Mitchell who faced a first round loss to Scranton Prep’s Jay Patel and Matt Hanahue, 6-1, 6-1.
