Throughout the past school year, several local varsity athletes were honored by Scranton Times-Tribune Athletes of the Week and Performers of the Year in their specific sport.
From Elk Lake Mike Bedell was honored not only as the Times-Tribune’s Athlete of the Year, but also as Performer of the Year in cross country.
Warrior Brooke Darling, a senior pitcher for Elk Lake’s softball team, was also named as Performer of the Year in softball.
Elk Lake junior Adam Phillips was the Performer of the Year for boys’ swimming.
Athletes of the Week from Elk Lake included Darling, and Bedell while Montrose’s Dallas Ely was named Athlete of the Week for girls’ basketball and Mountain View’s Kayla Kazmierski received a nod in girls’ volleyball.
