Over 100 players hit the mini-golf links at ‘Putt Fore Kids Sake’ benefiting the Susquehanna County Big Brothers/Big Sisters program.

The event took place on a picture perfect summer evening at Creekside Mini-Golf, north of Montrose, Thursday, Aug. 11, and raised $762 for the organization.

“It was a wonderful night,” said Program Director Cynthia Beeman. “It was a wonderful time to see old friends and talk about the program with new supporters. We even had a gentleman ask about becoming a big brother.”

One golfer used to be a little sister and told Beeman the BB/BS program positively impacted her life. Others just enjoyed the fun, family-friendly event.

Beeman said, “We appreciate all those who came out to support this effort.”

“At a time when our schools are not even able to provide tutoring, Big Brothers Big Sisters after-school programs are vital,” Beeman said. “Providing a friend, a one-to-one relationship built on trust and admiration that can blossom into a future of unlimited potential is more important than ever.”

Peoples Neighborhood Bank team members Cindy Fisher, Mary Anne Hayes, LouAnn Kiefer and Trudy Conigliaro get set to start a round of mini-gold at the first ever ‘Putt For Kids Sake’ – a fundraising event for Susquehanna County Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
