Harford Fair offers sporting fun

The second annual Harford Championship ProRodeo will play out in the main arena on Friday starting at 7:30 p.m.

The Harford Fair, starting Aug. 21, will feature many sporting related activities for patrons of the fair to enjoy.

On opening day, Sunday, Aug. 21, there will be a 4-H Livestock Skill-a-Thon in the cattle arena, where 4-H’ers will show off their cattle handling skills.

Monday will feature a truck pull at the main arena at7 p.m.as semis, modifieds and pickups battle it out to see who’s got the toughest wheels.

The action starts early on Tuesday morning as the farm tractor pull will commence kicking up dust at the fair’s main arena.

A hot tractor pull will take place at7 p.m.on Tuesday, as modified tractors battle in the main arena. The event is sanctioned by Interstate Tractor.

That event will be followed by a non-sanctioned tractor pull, featuring 12,000 pound machines at the main arena.

On Thursday, Aug. 25, there will be a Kiddy Tractor Pull for children ages four through seven taking place at the main arena at 10 a.m. Registration will take place starting at 9 a.m. in the 4-H building.

There will then be a horse barrel show at the horse arena at6 p.m., where riders will show off the skill of their equine.

The Demolition Derby will end the Harford Fair with a bang on Saturday night, starting at 7 p.m.

On Friday, there will be a woodsmen’s contest in the main arena starting at9 a.m., sponsored by Wyalusing Livestock Market, where locals will battle to see who has the best skills.

That evening, the second annual Harford Championship Pro Rodeo will headline the main arena, with action starting at7:30 p.m.

Saturday will be packed with excitement that all kicks off at9 a.m.in the main arena with the horse pulling contest, sponsored by Hinds Heating and Cooling/Felix-Hinds Propane. Weigh-ins are from6to8 a.m.

Following the pull, there will be a turkey calling contest at11 a.m.at the shade pavilion. That contest is sponsored by Cosmello’s U-Pull-It.

To end the fair with a bang will be the Jackpot Demolition Derby at the Main Arena, starting at7 p.m.where locals will face off for cash and glory.
