An Athens-area man was hit by a car Aug. 20 on Route 11 in New Milford Township.
Police said pedestrian Shane Bennici, 27, was walking in the road at about 9:30 p.m.when he was struck by driver Ronald Sherwood, 41, ofNew Milford.
Bennici was injured and taken toWilsonMemorialHospital,Johnson City,N.Y.for treatment.
Sherwood also sustained a minor injury in the accident.
Emergency services fromNew Milfordand Hallstead assisted police on the scene.
Tpr. John McArthur investigated the incident. Bennici received a citation, filed in New Milford District Court, for pedestrians walking along or on a highway.
