Man sentenced for assaults on three girls

BY STACI WILSON

ALBERT LUDWIG

A Susquehanna County man will spend six-12 years in state prison for sexually assaulting three juvenile females in separate incidents over the course of several years in Auburn Twp.

Albert Ludwig, 59,Hibbard Rd., was sentenced Tuesday, Sept. 27, immediately after the court determined he was a sexually violent predator under Meghan’s Law. Ludwig had been evaluated by the sexual predator assessment board.

In May, Ludwig pleaded guilty in Susquehanna County Court to a felony count of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and two counts of indecent assault.

He received the six-12 year sentence for the IDSI count stemming from an incident in Sept. 2005; a two and one-half to five year sentence for the indecent assault of a child under the age of 13 in Jan. 2004; and a one-two year sentence for indecent assault of a child under the age of 16 in Aug. 2010.

District Attorney Jason Legg said each of the three girls was assaulted multiple times by Ludwig over the course of many years. At the time of the incidents, the victims were 12-, 13- and 14-years-old.

The Susquehanna County Independent does not identify the victims of sexual assault.

Ludwig will serve the three sentences concurrently, followed by eight years probation after his release.

Two of the victims spoke at the sentencing hearing about the impact the sexual abuse had on them and their relationships with other people.

The oldest victim told the court she felt victimized by Ludwig even after his arrest and subsequent bail release and noted the negative impacts that had on her life.
