A family of five “lost everything” after a devastating house fire Thursday afternoon, the American Red Cross of Lackawanna County said.

The fire broke out at the 4936 Route 106 home at about2:30 p.m.and prompted the response of the Clifford Twp. Volunteer Fire Company, along with the Harford and Greenfield Twp. fire departments.

Brian Wrightson, emergency services director for the Red Cross of Lackawanna County – which also provides services to areas inSusquehannaCounty- said the house appeared to be a “total loss” and left a mother, father and their three young children without a home.

The family of five will be staying with relatives, Mr. Wrightson said, and the Red Cross is providing them with food and clothing.
