Proposed compressor tabled by planning commission

The Susquehanna County Planning Commission tabled a proposedForestLakeTwp.compressor station plan at the Feb. 28 meeting.

Williams Midstream plans to build a compressor station on theCarltonproperty situated on a private road, just offLester Rd.in the township.

Planning Director Bob Templeton said the proposed construction does not meet the county’s required setback of 200 feet from the property line.

The proposed plan fails to meet the required setback by about 35 feet, Templeton said.

A letter submitted from the neighboring property owners asked the planning commission to adhere to the ordinance requirements.

The planning commission advised Williams to devise a plan to meet the compressor station ordinance requirements.

Final approval was granted to aUGIcompressor station in Auburn Twp., located off Rt. 267.

Appalachia Midstream Services received preliminary conditional approval from the planning commission for the proposed construction of the Auburn-Rome interconnect in Auburn Twp.

Appalachia Midstream has agreed to provide screening of the site’s driveway in an effort to not interfere with the neighboring property owner’s view.

The Susquehanna County Planning Commission meets on the last Tuesday of every month at7:30 p.m.in theCountyOfficeBuilding,Public Ave., Montrose. A work session is held immediately prior to the meeting.
