The Montrose Area boys’ tennis team returns to the courts after a successful season last year in which the Meteors went 8-3 on the season, tied for second in Lackawanna League Division II.
Coach Jim Hinds is hoping the team can build on last year’s success.
“I hope to make it to the team district playoffs,” Hinds said.
He returns seniors Michael Roman, Chris Jordan and Isaac Mitchell, along with junior Sean Regan and Bryan Schultz to the courts, however, lost a pair of strong players to graduation in Zach Warriner and Ryan Ochse.
“All of our returning starters are playing well,” Hinds said.
He noted that Michael Roman is moving to the number one spot this season and Bryan Schultz moves from the seventh spot to the second.Jordanhas moved up from doubles to number three singles this season.
Although the Meteors return a lot of talent, they will have to face off against division powerhouses Scranton Prep and Valley View to contend for a title.
