Nicholson man admits to scrap thefts

A Nicholson man admitted Friday, Aug. 17, in Susquehanna County Court to stealing scrap in three cases.

Robert Schultz Jr., 27, pleaded guilty in front of President Judge Kenneth Seamans to three counts of theft, lodged in connection with separate 2011 cases.

The thefts occurred in Lenox Twp. Items taken by Schultz included scrap metal, aluminum siding and a cook stove.

While loading up a truck on Dec. 8, 2011, Schultz was confronted by a property owner who made him unload the material he was attempting to steal.

Schultz is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 20 and remains free on unsecured bail.

Others who also entered pleas Friday include:

Amanda Patterson, 25, of Vestal, N.Y., pleaded guilty to six misdemeanor counts of bad checks. Restitution had been made to the businesses the checks had been written to in November 2011. Patterson was sentenced to serve one-year probation.

Christopher Jackson, 32, Hop Bottom, pleaded guilty to simple assault stemming from an April 25 incident in Hop Bottom. He was then sentenced to serve nine months probation, undergo counseling and perform community service.

Michael Bills, 46, Kingsley, pleaded guilty to DUI and recklessly endangering another person in connection with a Jan. 28 incident in Harford Twp. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 20.

James Lewis, 32, Hallstead, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal mischief in connection with a June 5 incident in New Milford Borough. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 20.

Ethan Meagley, 22,LakeAriel, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of false reports in connection with a Jan. 20 incident inOakland. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 20.
