Bike race returns to Nicholson

The Pennsylvania State Individual Trial Championships will take place in Nicholson this Sunday and is sponsored by Upstate Velo. Race day registration opens at 7:30 a.m. and closes 15 minutes prior to the start times.

The time trial will be a 40K, or 24.8 miles, on a very fast out and back loop on Route 11 that will start and finish by the Valero Station in Nicholson.

The first biker will start at 9 a.m., and each biker will follow in thirty second increments. The categories of bikers include: Category 4 Women Citizens, Citizens and Category 5; Women 1, 2, and 3; Category 4 Men; Category 3 Men; and Pro, 1, and 2 Men.

The top three overall winners will receive a medal and prize money for their efforts.

Start times will be posted for those who preregistered by July 20 at 10 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine.
