Susquehanna County President Judge Kenneth Seamans administered the oath of office Friday, Jan. 3, to county and municipal officials elected to office in November.

Sheriff Lance Benedict and Prothonotary/Clerk of Courts Susan Eddleston were sworn into office, as were the departments’ deputies.

Suzanne Brainard placed her hand on the family Bible and wore her black judge’s robe as she took her oath. Brainard

was re-elected in November to serve her second term as the Magisterial District Judge in Clifford District Court.

Municipal officials were also called to the bench, with Judge Seamans swearing in mayors, borough council members, township supervisors, constables, tax collectors and election officials.

Many elected leaders arrived at the courtroom to be sworn in by the judge despite a snow storm that delivered a hefty blow the night before the ceremony.
