The Blue Ridge Board of Education convened Tuesday, April 15, for a special meeting.

The board accepted, with regret, the resignation of Dominica Felici-Skal, a middle school special education teacher.

Superintendent Robert McTiernan said that teaching position is a vital one in the district. By accepting the resignation in a special meeting, instead of at the regular business meeting scheduled for May 5, the district could get a two-week headstart on looking for qualified applicants.

In addition to the May 5 business meeting, the board will hold a workshop meeting on April 28, 7 p.m. in the cafeteria.

An executive session for a labor issue will also be held that evening at 6:45 p.m., following a 6:30 p.m. facilities and grounds meeting.
