County adds HR position

BY STACI WILSON

Susquehanna County government added a human resources professional to its staff at a special meeting called Thursday morning.

The salary board created the position of Human Resources Director/Deputy Chief Clerk with a $40,000-$50,000 salary range.

Commissioner Michael Giangrieco wanted it made clear that the salary was only for the joint responsibility position and if, in the future, the human resources and deputy chief jobs were separated, that the salaries would not start at that rate.

The commissioners then approved and ratified the May 19 hiring of Richard Ely to the newly created position at a salary of $48,000.
