BR replaces two teachers

BY STACI WILSON

Two new teachers joined the Blue Ridge staff for the start of school on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

The school board held a special meeting on Friday, Aug. 29 in order to fill teaching vacancies.

At the Aug. 18 meetings, the board accepted with regret resignations from high school math teacher and senior class adviser Christopher Clark; high school technology teacher Jonathan Sayre; and kindergarten teacher Tonya Molenko.

Sarah Yeust of Tunkhannock was hired Friday as a secondary math teacher, effective Aug. 29.

Michael Courtright of Scranton was hired as a secondary computer and information technology teacher, also effective Aug. 29.

The kindergarten teaching position was not replaced.

In July, the board also accepted, with regret, the notice of retirement from Deborah Slater, effective Aug. 8.

The school board will hold a business meeting on Monday, Sept. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria located in the elementary school. A workshop meeting of the board will be held on Monday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m.
