Blue Ridge returns experience

Blue Ridge captured the District 2 Class A championship last season, its first since winning in 2003.

Megan Houlihan is the top returning player for the Lady Raiders. She was an All-Region selection as a sophomore with 169 kills, 15 blocks, 67 service points, 10 aces and 123 digs.

Hayleigh Fekette and Kimberly Klim each earned honorable mention status on the Lackawanna League all-star team last season, and Kandace Smith returns at Libero, giving the Lady Raiders a lot of experience.

Forest City returns four starters including senior Zoe Zazzera, who was an honorable mention league all-star last season.

Elk Lake will be paced by Mikaela Parrett, an honorable mention league all-star last season, and Keryne Brostoski, a junior setter.

Western Wayne will be led by its only returning starter, Victoria Juhasz, and a list of newcomers that includes seniors Lexi Dyer and Alaina Lengner.

At Blue Ridge this past weekend, Abington Heights took the season opener, 3-2.

Megan Houlihan led Blue Ridge with six kills and six digs. Kimberly Klim had 11 points and Abby Hartman had 10 service points.
