The 16th annual Endless Mountains Health System golf tournament was held on Monday, August, 31, 2015 at the Montrose Country Club, Montrose, PA. This tournament event is held every year as a fundraiser and is the second tournament since the new hospital opened in December, 2013. This tournament has raised over $150,000 dollars during its’ 16 year history. This money was used for the purchase of new equipment for the hospital both in its old location on Grow Avenue and its new facility built 2 years ago.

Winners of the first tournament held in 1999 were Sam Lewis, Dr. Thomas Pascoe, Dr. Joseph Speicher and Dr. Stuart Kaufman.

Twenty four teams competed in this year’s tournament in two divisions; (1) all men/three men and one woman and (2) all women/two men and two women. Competition among teams is highlighted in this captain and crew event.

In the first flight, the team of Adam Diaz, Matt Baker, Matt Doherty and Joe Aldcowski scored 12 under par 60 for a first place win. Second place with a score of 61 went to the Reimel team, consisting of Craig Reimel, Al Reimel, Rich Rosenkrans and Tom Keenan.

Scoring first in the second flight were Mario Costa, Shawn Garrick, George Aldrich and Luke Pisarchik with a score of 64; winning second place with a score of 65 was the team of Jim Blachek, Dan Regan, Frank Mittman and Jeff Wager. Third place went to Larry Kelly, Jason Legg, Corey Goff and Stan Griffis, scoring a 65, on a match of cards.

Third flight first place went to the team of Gary McIntyre, Tim Rowland, Jason Murtha, and Carmen Passanti, scoring 71. Scott Andre, Mark Andre, Laurie Andre and Don Hawkins placed second with a score of 71, as well. Finishing this division, William Lewis, Kaitlyn Spellman, Fred Malloy and Albert Bertsch also scored 71.

In the womens/ mixed division, the team of Mary Ann DeWitt, Ed Shinn, Laura Kail and Karl Kail finished first with a gross score of 64. Placing second was Eileen Craige, Kathy Wheaton, Steve Henry and Steve Galloway followed in second with a score of 68; in third place was the team of Brian McCormack, Chrissy McCormack, Edgar Warriner and Lisa Warriner, scoring 68.

Longest drive by the women was awarded to Lisa Warriner and Mario Costa placed first for the men.

Closest to the pin on holes 4/13 went to Steve Jackowitz and Curtis Haley took the closest to the pin on 7/16.

Closest to the pin on holes 7/13 for the ladies went to Mary Ann DeWitt and Jill Keeler took honor for closest to the pin on holes 4/13.

After a bounteous buffet was served to the players by Joyce Siracuse and Curt Keihl, Dr. Joseph Speicher welcomed the golfers and remarked about the process by which the new hospital had become a reality. He thanked the corporate sponsors, course sponsors, employees, various funding organizations, patrons and the community at large for the on-going participation in the fruition realized by the many events.

Awards and certificates were given to the many winners and everyone is looking forward to the 17th annual tournament in 2016.
