Several athletes from the Lackawanna Track Conference enjoy the trip to Shippensburg University for the state meet so much, they keep returning.

Top performers from the LTC will be competing in individual events at Seth Grove Stadium on Friday and Saturday for at least the second time in their careers. Six are back for a third time, including Elk Lake’s Hunter Watkins.

Watkins, a three-time District 2 Class AA champion, won a seventh-place medal last season in the javelin and placed 13th in 2014.

Blue Ridge’s Lindsey Rupakus is also making her third appearance.

Rupakus finished 18th in 2014 and 11th last season in the 300 hurdles, while Murray was 19th as a sophomore and 18th last season in the 1,600, both in Class AA.

Montrose’s Zach Mead, who was 24th in the Class AA 1,600, will also be back.

Preliminary races on the track begin Friday at 9 a.m.

Finals will be held in 14 field events with seven going off at 9 a.m. and afternoon events starting at 12:30 p.m.

Semifinals in the 100/110 hurdles, 100 and 200 are scheduled for Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m.
Finals on the track start at 12:15 p.m.
