Blue Ridge’s current Director of Special Education, Casey Webster, will step into a new role, effective July 1, as the school board voted Monday, June 11, to hire her as the new middle/high school principal.
Webster replaces Peter Supko, who will move to the Susquehanna Community School District on July 1 to take on the position of elementary principal.
The Blue Ridge Board added Margot Parsons as the district’s Director of Special Education, also effective July 1.
The school board approved a five-year Memorandum of Understanding with the Susquehanna County District Attorney’s office to provide School Resource Officer services, July 1 – through June 30, 2023.
The district has utilized County Detective Greg Deck for the past year as its School Resource Officer.
The board approve a nearly $18.9 million budget, with millage set at 49.39 mills; and also authorized the homestead/farmstead exclusions.
Elizabeth Vaccaro was hired as a physics and middle school science teacher, pending paperwork, beginning with the 2018-19 school year.
