Mountain View

Mountain View’s girls’ soccer team took a 5-0 shutout win over Elk Lake on Friday, and a 5-0 shutout win over Carbondale on the road Wednesday.

On Friday, The Eagles scored one goal in the first half as Alix Taylor received a pass from Jennifer Molenko at 33:34 to make it 1-0 by halftime.

In the second half, Eagle Olivia Zick knocked in a goal with an assist from Srah Pulice at 60:12, and Molenko added a goal of her own at 62:42 to make it 3-0.

Megan Walker scored a goal at 69:10 win an assist from Cure and then capped off Eagle scoring with a second goal at 71:26 with an assist from Pulice to take the 5-0 win.

Mountain View had 30 shots on goal and three corners while goalie Caity Tague had four saves.

Elk Lake had eight shots on goal and no corners while Warrior goalie Katie Mitchell racked up 18 saves.

Against Carbondale in the first half, Taylor got on the board 2:23 into the first half, before adding a second goal at 15:00 to make it 2-0.

Taylor completed a natural hat trick at 35:00 before Walker would finish off the Eagles’ first-half scoring to make it 4-0.

In the second half, Molenko scored the final shot for the Eagles to cap off the victory.

Mountain View had 24 shots on goal and two corners while goalie Katie Kiehart had four saves on goal.

Elk Lake

The Elk Lake girls’ soccer team posted a 1-0 shutout over Dunmore on the road on Wednesday afternoon.

Carolyn Teetsel knocked in the winning goal seven minutes into overtime, unassisted, to lift the Warriors.

Elk Lake’s Katie Mitchell had 11 saves on the day while the Warriors had 16 shots on goal and four corners.
