Crash claims Meshoppen man

A 46-year-old Meshoppen man died Saturday evening when his car landed in a creek about a mile north of Meshoppen.

State Police at Gibson say that Craig S. Vogel was traveling south on Singer Road (T-309) around 9 p.m., when his 2001 Ford Focus failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway and he lost control.

The car travelled off the roadway and down an embabnkment and coming to a final rest in Riley Creek, on its roof. It sustained severe damage.

Vogel, who had been wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Trooper John J. Bradley investigated.
