Montrose’s boys’ basketball team grabbed a 45-28 win at Elk Lake on Saturday night and a 50-46 victory over Lackawanna Trail on the road on Thursday evening.
On Saturday, the Meteors got ahead 8-6 after the first quarter and paced the Warriors 14-7 in the second to lead 22-13 at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Meteors outscored the Warriors 10-8 and finished off the win going 13-7 in the fourth.
Montrose was led by Cole Mallery with 15 points while Colby Major had 11 points and Cameron Dean added eight.
Bryan Grosvenor paced Elk Lake with seven points while Mark Bush had six.
On Thursday, the Meteors got ahead early going on a 12-7 run over Lackawanna Trail in the first before pacing the Lions 15-10 in the second to hold a 27-17 lead at halftime.

After the break, Trail paced Montrose 13-9 and after outscoring the Meteors 16-14 in the fourth, Montrose held on to win.
The Meteors were led by Steve Squires with 20 points as he led all scorers. Major added 16 points and Bill Stranburg had 10.
Blue Ridge
The Blue Ridge boys’ basketball team picked up a 63-45 win at home from Susquehanna on Saturday and grabbed a 47-44 victory over Elk Lake on the road on Thursday evening.
Against Susquehanna, the Raiders paced Susquehanna 18-11 in the first quarter and 8-6 in the second to hold a 26-17 lead at the half.
After the break, the Raiders paced the Sabers 28-19 in the third quarter and capped off the win with nine points in the fourth.
Alex Cardoza had a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists and Matt Principe scored 16 points to lead Blue Ridge.
Dylan Pruitt had 11 points and seven rebounds and Sawyer Dearborn added 10 points and seven rebounds.
Susquehanna was led by Andrzej Tomczyk with 20 while Cole Mallery had 15 points.
On Thursday, in the first quarter, the Warriors paced Blue Ridge 16-13, before the leading the way 19-12 in the second to hold a 35-25 lead over the Raiders at halftime.
However, Blue Ridge outscored Elk Lake 10-4 in the third quarter and held off the Warriors in the fourth to take the win.
Principe scored 14 points and Cardoza added 13 for Blue Ridge while Dearborn had 10.
Elk Lake was led by Bryan Grosvenor with 11 points while Mark Bush added 10 and Joe Woolcock had nine.
Forest City
Forest City’s boys’ basketball team was handed a 74-43 loss from Lakeland on the road on Saturday and took a 56-46 win over Susquehanna in a home game on Thursday evening.
Against Lakeland, the Foresters fell behind 17-10 after the first period and were outscored 28-16 in the second to trail 45-26 at halftime.
After the break, Lakeland topped Forest City 13-10 in the third and 16-7 in the fourth to take the loss.
The Foresters were led by Joe Caruso with 15 points while Zack Mendoza and Dylan Walsh each had seven.
On Thursday in the first quarter, Forest City outscored the Sabers 15-7, before Susquehanna would battle back outscoring the Foresters 13-10 in the second.
After the break, Forest City outscored Susquehanna 16-11 in the third and after each team scored 15 in the fourth, the Foresters grabbed the win.
Forest City was led by Caruso with 21 points while Walsh had 14.
Cole Mallery was Susquehanna’s top scorer with 14 points while Andrzej Tomczyk and Taylor Cundey each had eight.

Mountain View
The Mountain View boys’ basketball team took a 49-29 loss at Marywood University from Lackawanna Trail in a Coaches vs. Cancer benefit game on Saturday and faced a 58-42 loss from Lakeland on the road on Thursday evening.
On Saturday, Trail got ahead of the Eagles 15-1 in the first quarter and paced Mountain View 16-8 in the second to lead 31-9 by halftime.
After the half, the Lions outscored Mountain View 9-6 in the third and despite a late-game 14-9 rally from the Eagles, Trail took the win.
Mountain View was led by Julian Williams with seven points while Wakalowski had six.
On Thursday, the Eagles fell behind 16-14 after the first quarter and were outscored 13-4 in the second to face a 29-18 deficit at halftime.
After the break, Lakeland outscored the Eagles 19-8 in the third and despite a late 16-10 rally from the Eagles, Lakeland held on to take the win.
Mountain View was led by Chris Herman with 14 points while Nate Goodenough had eight points.
