At Susquehanna on Tuesday night, Cole Mallery scored off an inbound play at the buzzer for a victory over Lackawanna Trail, 46-45.
Susquehanna trailed by one with 2.5 seconds remaining and inbounded the ball underneath the basket to Mallery, who laid it in as time expired.
Mallery finished with 14 points and 18 rebounds while Taylor Cundy had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Sabers.
Trail paced the Sabers 11-8 through the first quarter, and held a 24-21 lead at halftime. Going into the fourth, the Sabers trailed 33-29.
Andrzej Tomczyk had nine points while Austin Cowperthwait added eight for Susquehanna.
Montrose
Montrose’s boys’ basketball team grabbed a 75-25 victory at home on Saturday in the Lackawanna League Class AA play-in tournament to end Mountain View’s season.
The Meteors paced the Eagles 23-5 in the first quarter and 20-2 in the second to lead 43-7 by halftime.
After the break, Montrose paced the Eagles 15-6 in the third and then capped off the win with a 17-12 run in the fourth.
Bill Stranburg and Tom Lewis each scored 13 points while Colby Major added nine and Steve Squires had eight points to pace the Meteors.
Nate Goodenough led Mountain View with eight points while James O’Brien had six.

Elk
Lake
The Elk Lake Warrior boys’ basketball team faced a 51-33 loss to Mid Valley in the Lackawanna League Class AA play-in tournament to end its season after it took a 52-36 victory over Mountain View in Kingsley on Tuesday evening.
On Saturday, Elk Lake fell behind 18-4 after the first quarter and trailed 38-12 by halftime.
After the break, Mid Valley paced the Warriors 12-7 in the third and despite a 14-1 scoring really by the Warriors in the fourth, Mid Valley took the win.
Mark Bush led Elk Lake with 12 points while Rob Heft and Tanner Reyan each had six points.
Against Mountain View, the Warriors paced the Eagles throughout the first half going 13-6 over Mountain View in the first and holding a 30-14 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Elk Lake dominated 9-7 in the third quarter and despite being outscored 15-13 in the fourth, took home the victory.
Elk Lake was led by Joe Woolcock who scored 14 points while Bryan Grosvenor scored nine and Bush added eight points.
Mountain View was paced by Julian Williams and Nate Goodenough each scored 10 for the Eagles.
Blue Ridge
Blue Ridge’s Raider boys’ basketball team fell to Carbondale, 63-51, in the Lackawanna League Class AA tournament after it grabbed a 76-45 victory over Forest City at home on Tuesday evening.
Carbondale got ahead of the Raiders early with a 16-9 scoring run in the first before the Raiders would outscore the Chargers 14-10 in the second to trail 26-23 at halftime.
After the break, Carbondale paced the Raiders 20-12 in the third quarter and capped off the victory with a 17-16 scoring run in the final minutes.
Sawyer Dearborn had 18 points for Blue Ridge while Matt Principe dropped in 16. Alex Cardoza added nine points.
On Tuesday, Principe scored 32 points and Cardoza dished out 16 assists to lead the Raiders in the Division III matchup.
Principe also had six rebounds, five assists and six steals, Dearborn scored 18 points and Dylan Pruitt had 15 points and seven rebounds for the Raiders.
Blue Ridge paced Forest City 21-12 in the first and held a 39-19 lead at halftime.
In the second half, each team scored 15 in the third before the Raiders went on to pace the Foresters 22-11 in the fourth to cap off the victory.
Kevin Swartz led Forest City with 13 points while Joe Caruso had 10 and Adam Dix chipped in six.
Forest City
Forest City’s boys’ basketball team was handed a 67-42 loss in a non-league game against West Scranton on the road on Friday night.
The Invaders got ahead of the Foresters 14-6 after the first quarter and paced Forest City 31-12 at halftime.
After the break, West Scranton paced the Foresters 18-15 in the third and 18-15 in the fourth to take the victory.
Joe Caruso scored a game-high 18 points for Forest City while David Cavalieri dropped in eight and Zach Mendoza had five points.
