Bars checked for age compliance

BY STACI WILSON

Three of four Susquehanna County taverns randomly checked for selling alcohol to minors by the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control during a Feb. 24 age compliance check were in compliance with the law.

The investigation into the non-compliant tavern is continuing.

An establishment is found to be non-compliant if alcoholic beverages were sold to underage individuals trained and supervised by the liquor control board enforcement officers.

The three premises that refused to serve an underage buyer were: Armetta Family Enterprises, Rt. 848, New Milford; Queen of Hearts, Main St., New Milford; and PJ’s Cafe, Rt. 29, South Montrose.

According the Liquor Control Board website, 87 establishments in Susquehanna County hold liquor licenses.
