The Susquehanna County Area Agency on Aging honored 150 volunteers, staff and guests on April 16 with a dinner at the Hallstead American Legion.
Onhand to add appreciation were director Bill Farley; community relations coordinator Annie Metarko; advisory board member Leon Allen, Rick Ainey and Mary Ann Warren.
Kelly Allen was master of ceremonies.
Senior Center Managers who thanked all those who help were: Veronica Striefsky (Forest City); Marsha Testa (Lanesboro); Sandy Decker (Montrose); Mary Jane Taylor (Lenoxville); Betty Kegelman a substitute for (Blue Ridge); and Allen (Lawton).
Other substitutes recognized besides Kegelman, who took over when Donna Cosmello left to further her career, were Linda Rowlands and Ed and Judy Collins.
Warren said she had been attending the dinner for seven years. “Volunteers do not necessarily have the time but they have the heart,” she said.
The entertainment, Bob Sea, was a huge hit with those attending as they sang along with Bob, his father and grandfather the popular tune from days gone by.
Area businesses donating toward the volunteer dinner were WalMart, Vestal, N.Y.; WalMart, Tunkhannock; Pump & Pantry; Dr. Thomas Pascoe; From the Heart; Peoples Bank; Medical Arts Pharmacy; Montrose Beverage; and Rob’s Market, all of Montrose; and Dan Ricci and Tim Carpenter from State Farm Insurance.
