Warriors compete at Lock Haven

Mike Bedell and Maria Trowbridge of Elk Lake each took a first place at the Bald Eagle Invitational at Lock Haven University Friday, while their teammates also had some surprisingly strong finishes.

But the Lady Warriors only finished seventh with  41 points out of 25 teams competing, far back from champion Lewisburg with 121 points. And, in the boys’ meet Elk Lake finished 10th with 33 points out of 27 teams and far back from champion Archbishop Curley with 90 points

Boys action

Bedell took first place in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:24.82, less than four seconds ahead of Joel Christian of Towanda.

The 4×800 meter relay team (Bedell, Will Bennett, Sean Carney and Luke Jones) took second place with a time of 8:13.09, less than six seconds behind Lewisburg.

Bennett took fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:02.42.

Jones took fourth in the 3200 meter run with a time of 9:51.20.

Joe Woolcock took sixth in the javelin throw with a distance of 146 feet 11 inches.

Jeremy Schwartzrauber took seventh in the pole vault with a distance of 10 foot three inches.

Jason Vermeulen took ninth in the high jump with a distance of 5 feet seven inches.

Woolcock took 10th in the triple jump with a distance of 38 feet 6.25 inches.

Girls action

Trowbridge took first place in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:31.16, more than five seconds ahead of Susan Learn of North Penn.

The 4×800 meter relay team (Elizabeth Trowbridge, Maria Trowbridge, Emily Williams and Cassie VanEtten) took second place with a time of 9:50.58, less than four seconds behind Indian Valley.

VanEtten took third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.66. Kelsey Hermick toook fourth with a time of 1:03.34.

The 4×400 meter relay team (Hermick, Kirsten Hollister, VanEtten and Williams) took fourth with a time of 4:14.14.

Cindy Good took sixth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.15.

Hermick took sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.76.

Elizabeth Trowbridge took eighth place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:32.26.
