Stephanie Ostir’s 2010 entry to the Harford Fair’s premium book cover contest was declared a winner and her jigsaw puzzle design  appears on this years fair book.

According to Cindy Reynolds, superintendent of the school exhibits, the contest is a way to encourage youth to become involved in the Harford Fair.

Ostir was presented a framed copy of her work by Reynolds during the opening of the fair on Sunday evening. She said the design came to her when she was putting together a jigsaw puzzle as it is a unique way to feature all of the areas enjoyed by people who come to the fair.

She is the daughter of Jeff and Lori Ostir ofCliffordTownship, and older sister to Marissa, and comes from a family with fair involvement for generations.

Besides being a talented and creative artist, Ostir is an eighth grader atMountain View, Reynolds said. Her 4-H projects have been cooking, photography and sewing projects.

Last year she not only won the cover contest  but also won a Best of Show in fine Arts for her one-page scrapbook entry and Grand Champion and aRegional First Placefor the dress she entered. She is very active in her church, sings, and participates in athletic events as well.
