DAISY MATULEVICH

Mansfield University junior Daisy Matulevich was crowned the 20th Harford Fair Queen Monday.
She won out over Alternate Queen Rachael Klein and other contestants Maria Trowbridge and Rachael Grosvenor.
Fair Director Jason Miller was the announcer for the afternoon and evening programs.
The new queen is the daughter of Gary and Cheryl Matulevich of Hop Bottom. She has been involved in various sports, honor societies and many leadership positions, as well as band and chorus.
The nursing major’s college activities are mainly focused on the field of nursing and health sciences.
Her local involvement also includes 4-H, Susquehanna County Dairy Quiz Bowl and the County Dairy Princess program. Her hobbies include working with farm animals, scrapbooking. baking and cooking and volunteer work.
Following her graduation from Mansfield in 2013, Matulevich said she plans to continue her education to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist. She hopes to live in Susquehanna County and work at the soon-to-be-built Endless Mountains Hospital in Montrose.

Klein is a sophomore atBinghamtonUniversitymajoring in biology and anthropology. Following graduate school she would like to work in the forensic field for the State Police or for a fire investigation team.
Besides her track involvement, basketball and karate, Klein is also involved in 4-H. She is a volunteer firefighter forSilverLakevolunteer fire Company and for the Town ofBinghamtonvolunteer fire company. she is also anEMTwith the local rescue squad. Her hobbies include anything that has to do with the arts, hunting and fishing. listening to music, bowling, traveling and camping with her family.
Grosvenor is the daughter of Paul and Sue Grosvenor of Kingsley. She is an honors home-schooled student with A Beka Academy and plans to attend college majoring in elementary education.
She is on the swim and track teams atElkLakeSchooland participated in the Voice of Democracy contest where she placed fifth at the state level. Grosvenor enjoys swimming, reading, drama and spending time with friends and family.
Trowbridge is the daughter of Gene and Valerie Trowbridge of Meshoppen and a senior atElkLakeHigh Schoolwhere she will be senior class president.
Her school activities include cross country, student council, Key Club, swimming and band. She is very involved in 4-H, Teen Council, National Junior Angus Association and the Adopt-a-Highway program through the Key Club. Her hobbies include animals, horseback riding and running. Her future goal is to be in the medical field, eventually becoming a doctor.
The 2010 Harford Fair Queen Andrea Beeman tearfully gave her farewell speech Monday. She was presented with a gift and a scrapbook of her one year reign as Fair Queen.
“We are very proud of Andrea and how well she represented Harford Fair this past year,” Queen Moms Ginny Beeman and Debbie Chidester said.

Also on hand to congratulate the newly crowned queen were the Troy Fair Queen and the Kiwanis Wyoming County Fair Queen Katie Kugler.

The 2011 contest judges were: Gary Hennip who is the Penn State Extension Director forBradfordCounty; David MacFadden, announcer at radio station WPEL in Montrose, and Amy VanBlarcom Lackey, branch manager for AgChoice Farm Credit.
