As the number of Williams Companies employees grows in the area, so do the needs of those workers, including the need for quality health care.

On Monday afternoon, Williams donated $50,000 to the Endless Mountains Health Systems building fund.

Ryan Savage, general manager of theAppalachiaBasinarea, said, “We have a lot of employees here and we’re growing. This is good for our employees and good for the community.”

Savage said the donation to the hospital building fund fits with the company’s core beliefs and principals.

Williams Vice President Frank Billings said, “Good, quality health care is a priority for our company.”

Billingssaid the company wanted to support the project to make sure the “community and employees has the facility it needs.”

EMHS expects to break ground on Phase I of the project before the end of the year, said board member Ray Wilmarth. Funding for the first phase is complete. The Williams’ donation will be used to help fund the second phase of the building project.

“We certainly appreciate the Williams organization for provding us with this funding. It’s an important part to keep the project moving forward,” Wilmarth said.

Nathan Lopez, a production manager for Williams, said he first heard about the EMHS building project at a Montrose Rotary Club meeting.

Lopez said that Williams plans to be part of the community and he felt the hospital project would be something the company would like to be a part of.

EMHS CEO Rex Catlin also expressed his gratitude to Williams Companies for the donation.

Catlin said, “We’ve been working on this project for a long time and we are grateful for Williams’ help with the project.”
